Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is back in blue on the set of X-Men Days of Future Past. Director Bryan Singer shared this first look of the actress in makeup as Mystique via Twitter.

In X-Men: First Class Raven was a childhood friend of Charles Xavier who flirted with Beast (Nicholas Hoult) but eventually fell in love with Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and joined his Brotherhood of Mutants.

In the classic comic book storyline that’s the inspiration for the upcoming sequel – Mystique is leader of the Brotherhood plotting to assassinate a Senator. The killing will lead to a dark Continue reading Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in X-Men Days of Future Past

Kid Apocalypse is back! I met this cosplayer at Emerald City Comicon earlier this year and later learned he was filming a music video at the Seattle con featuring an uncanny crew of X-Men cosplayers!

En Sabah Nur has a new video and mixtape on the way but now he’s working on a new webseries Infinite Issues set in a comic book shop. You can learn more and even help kickstart the series here.

While that series is underway you can still enjoy Kid Apocalypse: Came From the Chain! Here’s the Youtube link. Check out a cameo from the Kid’s creator, Uncanny X-Force and now Uncanny Avengers writer, Rick Remender!

As you can tell, this Kid knows his X-Men comic book history. Here’s a link to download kidapocalypse.bandcamp.com.

Peter Dinklage is a new addition to the movie mutant universe in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The Game of Thrones star is sporting a wicked mustache in this shot from director Bryan Singer via Twitter.

Dinklage has that 1970’s stache because the film is set partly in 1973 as seen in this Twitter photo of Hugh Jackman and Nicholas Hoult from Singer.

That serious stache Continue reading Peter Dinklage’s New Look for X-MEN: Days of Future Past

Nathan Fillion on Joss Whedon & Shakespeare

Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly, Serenity) stars in Joss Whedon’s retelling of Much Ado About Nothing. Fillion joined the director and other “Whedonverse” alum (Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Clark Gregg) for Opening Night of the Seattle International Film Festival.

Fillion explains the appeal of  Whedon’s modern take on William Shakespeare’s classic romantic war of words and wits:

The new film was shot in just twelve days at Whedon’s home as part of his break after The Avengers. Fillion has worked for Whedon on Firefly, Serenity, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Doctor Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog.   The star explains how being a member Continue reading Nathan Fillion on Joss Whedon & Shakespeare

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will hit television screens this fall. Clark Gregg reprises his role as Agent Phil Coulson on the new series set in the world of The Avengers cinematic universe. The television pilot is from The Avengers writer/director Joss Whedon.

Gregg joined Whedon (along with Nathan Fillion, Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof) at Opening Night of the Seattle International Film Festival. Before the screening of Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing I asked Gregg about joining the “Whedonverse” extended family of actors.

“I was the new guy. It was Continue reading AVENGERS Star CLARK GREGG on AGENTS OF SHIELD

Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver for Avengers 2

Joss Whedon has (almost confirmed?) that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will be part of Avengers 2. While promoting Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD at the ABC Fall presentation this week Whedon was asked again by IGN about the inclusion of Magneto’s mutant twins:

“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”

Thanks to Spinoff Online.

Could it be that Wanda and Pietro could be supporting villains in the sequel? In the X-Men comics Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants before reforming and joining Earth’s Mightiest Heroes along with Hawkeye (another reformed criminal.)
