Superman Inspired Look for Man of Steel’s 75th Anniversary

Superman is looking better than ever at 75! DC Comics and Warner Brothers have revealed plans to honor Superman for reaching such an incredible milestone, the companies are kicking off a year of celebration including a new commemorative Superman 75th anniversary logo as well as an animated short tribute chronicling the rich 75-year history of the Man of Steel.
Superman first appeared in the comic book Action Comics #1 in June 1938 and became a cultural icon, winning fans in nearly every known entertainment in the medium. Man of Steel flies into cinemas on June 14th.

Romance in THE WOLVERINE

Yes, I’m eager to see Hugh Jackman fight, slice and dice ninjas and the Silver Samurai in The Wolverine. I’m also intrigued by how Logan’s greatest romance will play on the big screen. Joss Whedon keeps talking future superhero projects while supporting his new film, Much Ado About Nothing. While at The Film Society of Lincoln Center presents “An Evening with Joss Whedon” the director was asked by Coming Soon which Marvel character he could work on who would it be. The answer was a surprise:

“If I could get my hands on absolutely anybody it would be Batman. (audience applause) He’s a Marvel character in the DC universe.” Audience applause followed!

Glenn Close in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY?

If Samuel L. Jackson is the ultimate law enforcement authority on Earth as Nick Fury in The Avengers then Glenn Close could be his counterpart…in outer space!

The acclaimed actress (Damages, Fatal Attraction) is the front runner for a major role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy according to Deadline. The story claims Close would play a leader in the Nova Corps, an intergalactic police force.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the story of Peter Quill (alien father, human mother) who becomes Star-Lord and leads a team of aliens in space faring adventures. If the presence of the Nova Corps is true this could mean Marvel is planning a film based on the Nova comic book.

Hugh Jackman Wants X-Men & Avengers Movie

In the comic books X-Men have fought against and with the Avengers. Wolverine joined the Avengers and fights with both teams.

Will there ever be an X-Men and Avengers movie? Hugh Jackman is hoping so and even has picked the Avenger he wants Wolverine to take on in a possible film!

“You know, obviously we have people from—one of the great things about this movie is that a lot of people from Marvel are here and it seems a lot more inclusive than it has been in the past. I don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes, but I think it’s fantastic,” Jackman tells Screen Rant, “I actually just asked the other day, I said, ‘I don’t know what the legal situation is, but why don’t these companies come together? Will the new Superman actor trade in his super suit for a tuxedo?

Man of Steel star Henry Cavill is in talks to replace Tom Cruise in the Guy Ritchie directed The Man From U.N.C.L.E. for Warner Brothers according to Variety. Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) recently signed on as Russian agent Ilya Kuryakin. Cavill would play American spy Napoleon Solo. Cruise left to film a 5th Mission Impossible movie. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. would be based on the 1960’s television series about agents of the United Network Command for Law Enforcement who fought against the evil agents of THRUSH.

Fans can assume Thanos (the big bad behind Loki and the Chitauri’s invasion in the first film) will play a role in Avengers 2 but he may not be the main villain on the front lines fighting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
