Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) plays Superman villain General Zod in Man of Steel. The indie actor known for his creepy roles is featured in this month’s GQ. Shannon was asked if Zod is pure evil or will the audience feel any empathy or sympathy for the revolutionary from a destroyed planet.
The success of Man of Steel could determine the cinematic future of other DC Comics superheroes. The Superman reboot could be the start of a new wave of films starring other icons and leading to a Justice League movie. Director Zach Snyder tells the Los Angeles Time Hero Complex about the possibilities:
Fans are wondering about the cinematic debut of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Joss Whedon will use the brother and sister in Avengers 2 for Marvel/Disney. Bryan Singer has cast Evan Peters as Quicksilver in X-Men Days of Future Past. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are the children of Magneto created as villains in the X-Men comics but went on to become longtime members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
The next Disney vs. Fox characters in question could be The Inhumans. Disney controls the Avengers. Fox controls film rights to The Fantastic Four which is currently being rebooted.

Will there ever been a solo female superhero movie? With the recent successes of comic books starring women (the all-female X-Men, Fearless Defenders, Captain Marvel, The New 52 Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Batwoman) is the time right?
Disney is still in negotiations with Robert Downey Jr. about reprising his role as Tony Stark in Avengers 2 (and beyond ?) but for director Joss Whedon it appears to be a done deal as he explains to The Daily Beast.
“He is Iron Man. He is Iron Man in the way that Sean Connery was James Bond. I have no intention of making Avengers 2 without him, nor do I think I’ll be called upon to do that. I don’t think it’s in my interest, Marvel’s interest, or his interest, and I think everything will be fine. But I know that this is Hollywood and you roll with things. You have to be ready for the unexpected. But I loved working with Robert, and everybody knows Continue reading Joss Whedon on Robert Downey Jr and AVENGERS 2
