DC Comics Chief on Wonder Woman, Sandman and Aquaman Movies

AQM_Cv0_dsDiane Nelson is The Wonder Woman of DC Comics guiding the fate of those beloved heroes and villains. The DC Entertainment Chief is celebrating the success of Man of Steel but can’t comment on a sequel or Justice League movie yet. Nelson was asked by The Hollywood Reporter which DC characters or books would she like to see on the big screen.

Sandman is right on top. I think it could be as rich as the Harry Potter universe. Fables. Metal Men. Justice League. And yes, I’m going to say it: Aquaman.” Continue reading DC Comics Chief on Wonder Woman, Sandman and Aquaman Movies

Director Bryan Singer tweeted this picture from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past showing the Maximoff family home with the message “House call.”

Pietro Maximoff is the real name of Quicksilver, the son of Magneto.

Director Joss Whedon announced Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) would appear in Avengers 2.

Singer then announced Evan Peters (American Horror Story) was cast as Quicksilver in the X-Men sequel. Continue reading Quicksilver’s Home in X-MEN:DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Hugh Jackman fights ninjas, his haunted past and the Silver Samurai in The Wolverine. The X-Man has his claws full with three gorgeous and dangerous women, too! IGN shared these new character posters of Logan, Mariko, Viper and Yukio plus the actor listed as Shingen, head of Clan Yashida.

The film is based on the classic Chris Claremont story of Wolverine falling in love with the daughter of a powerful Japanese crime lord. In the movie’s trailer, Lord Yashida is a man Logan saved in World War II and is now head of a biotech empire. Continue reading WOLVERINE and His Lethal Ladies!

Who Should Play BATMAN Next?

My geek dreams shift towards a Man of Steel meets The Dark Knight film instead of a full-blown Justice League movie. I’m even more convinced after reading Batman/Superman #1 in comic book shops now that a meeting of DC’s two biggest icons is the way to go.

Christian Bale has once again confirmed he will not play Batman again so who should play the Dark Knight in a team-up with Superman or Justice League movie? Christopher Nolan’s final Dark Knight film opened up the possibility of Joseph Gordon-Levitt becoming Gotham City’s new Dark Knight. I love JGL and I’d enjoy seeing a Nightwing movie so I’m going with a brand new actor in the role.

Here are my picks for the next Batman:

Ryan Gosling The obvious, no-brainer choice. He can play slick and charming as Bruce (as seen in Ides of March, Crazy Stupid Love) and intense and violent (Drive, The Gangster Squad.) Gosling has the edge and almost sinister charm (like Sean Connery in his early 007 films) in every role.  I’m in conflict with my myself – Gosling is my top pick for Marvel’s potential Daredevil reboot – may the best studio win. Fans will win with such a talented actor like Gosling in any superhero role.

Charlie Hunnam The Sons of Anarchy star’s star could explode this summer in Pacific Rim. The talented actor can play the conflicted but violent anti-hero with a menacing gruff voice as seen on Sons of Anarchy. If Pacific Rim is a hit for Warner Brothers they could see Hunnam as a leading man to bring new energy to the Dark Knight.

Richard Madden My wild card pick. Madden had the charisma and intensity to become King of the North and inspire a war on Game of Thrones. I’m still in angry mourning for Robb Stark!

The Two That Could Have Been:

Armie Hammer was picked by George Miller for his potential Justice League movie and I could definitely see the towering actor in the role it’s likely Hammer will ride again in a sequel to The Lone Ranger.

Michael Fassbender – I LOVE him as Magneto and would never want to go back in time and erase cinematic history but can’t you see Fassbender as Bruce Wayne?!

The One That Won’t Happen But…

Viggo Mortensen as Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns

What do you think?

Who will be the next Dark Knight?

In a summer of sequels and reboots, Guillermo del Toro is bringing a new movie mythology of monsters and mayhem to the box-office with Pacific Rim.

When giant monsters rise out the ocean to terrorize the world , scientists create their own monsters. Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) is one of the pilots of giant robots designed to fight the alien beasts. Interviews with del Toro, Hunnam and Idris Elba (Prometheus, Luther) and behind the scenes action are packed in this new Under Attack YouTube feature courtesy Warner Brothers.

Casting DOCTOR STRANGE

Doctor Strange appears to be a huge element of Marvel’s Cinematic Phase Three if you believe all the rumblings on the web! Pulling off the Master of the Mystic Arts could be tricky but who knew Iron Man would have been a blockbuster smash leading to Avengers Assembling on the big screen!

Like Robert Downey, Jr. playing Tony Stark – casting is key! You need an actor with charm, charisma who can make dark magic believable.

Doctor Stephen Strange was a brilliant, rich, arrogant surgeon who injures his hands in a freak accident. When the Doctor can no longer practice medicine he goes Continue reading Casting DOCTOR STRANGE
