In the aftermath of the Cable and X-Force vs. Uncanny X-Force crossover Vendetta – there will be one single X-Force book. Marvel revealed plans for the new title by Si Spurrier (X-Men Legacy, Numbercruncher) via USA Today.

 

The rosters have changed but X-Force has always been the pro-active, clandestine unit of the X-Men doing what X-Men can’t…sometimes taking out their enemies before they can attack mutants.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD for Virgins

THOR: THE DARK WORLD opens Friday. Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the Avenger from Asgard for third time. If this big movie is your third or first time seeing the Thunder God in action here’s a guide for Thor virgins or hammer wielding fans who want to get a refresher. Given the response to my Avengers for Virgins post I wanted to give an update of fun Thor basics and what to watch for in the sequel!

 

Comic Book Origin: Thor was co-created by the legendary Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby in Journey Into Mystery in 1963 and based on Norse mythology. The hammer wielding God of Thunder was a founding member of the Avengers as they assembled against the threat of his brother, Loki.

The special Captain Marvel Carol Corps issue is out today. To celebrate the arrival of Captain Marvel #17 I wanted to share the final part of my one on one with writer Kelly Sue DeConnick at GeekGirlCon.

The Carol Corps would love to see Carol Danvers make the leap from comic books to television or a movie. Could we see Carol on an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or an Avengers sequel or possibly her own series or solo movie?

I asked DeConnick what’s the most important for filmmakers to get right about Carol in transitioning the fan-favorite Avenger from comic book to other mediums.

Marvel Universe LIVE! Cast Revealed

Marvel Universe LIVE! is a new stage show touring North America next year but which heroes will fans get to see in action.

 

Today producers revealed Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Falcon, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents will be part of the show produced by Feld Entertainment according to The Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision.

 

The big surprise – no women – not even Black Widow on such on a Avengers-centric cast.

 

Who else would you want to see in the big show?

The Marvel one word teaser machine cranked up again with this ominous one word in fiery colors signaling something new in the All-New Marvel Now coming in February 2014.

KICK-ASS Star Joins AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has officially joined the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron according to The Wrap. The star of Kick-Ass will play Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver. Still no word on who will play the speedster’s twin sister Wanda aka Scarlet Witch. Elizabeth Olsen is said to be in negotiations for the role of the mutant with “hex” power.

 

The hotheaded hero is devoted to protecting his fragile but powerful sister. Quicksilver was married to Crystal of the Inhumans. They have a daughter named Luna.
