Today is the one year anniversary of ComicsBlend.com! I want to thank all the friends, fans and followers who have supported and shared my dream. I’ve met legendary comic book creators, some of the biggest writers and artists working today and some major movie stars this year but it’s all about fellow fans.

I owe my success to you for embracing my blog. I love that connection at a con or in the shop when you meet a fellow fan who shares you passion.

A big thanks to my Mom and Dad for buying my first comic book and for always believing in me.

Thank to you for your support and shares. I hope you will keep enjoying ComicsBlend.com.

“We’re NASA and We Know It” Update

Hanging with the creative mad men of cinesauraus.com!

I met the director and star of YouTube sensation “We’re NASA and We Know It.”  The video from this Seattle celebrates the men and women behind of Mars hopes and dreams and parodies LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It.”

David and Steve Hudson of cinesauraus.com are actors, editors and special effects gurus of this hilarious spoof. They tell me they are working on a new project now and have a video appearing in this weekend’s Celebrate Seattle event starring NASA’s real Mohawk guy and Star Trek legend Nichelle Nichols!

Great comic book shops, creators and cons plus all the computer and space geeks and these creatives – got to love Seattle!

Thanks to Geekwire for making my day! I needed this! I have a former Boeing buddy whose new employer in Seattle helped make part of the Curiosity.

Mike Choi and More New Creators For Emerald City Comicon

My Black Bolt by Mike Choi, ComicsBlend

One of my all-time favorites is coming to back to Emerald City Comicon. Back in 2008 my sketch request was Nightcrawler and I had a ton of X-Force issues autographed. At the 2012 Fan Expo Vancouver I got an awesome Black Bolt sketch from Mike.

Emerald City Comicon announced that Tim Sale and Michael Avon Oeming are returning to the 2013 event. Dave Johnson, Ethan Van Scriver, Ray Fawkes and Dan Panoshian join the growing line-up or guests. Sir Patrick Stewart and Billy Dee Williams (Freakin’ Lando! I exclaimed when I first saw this) are also coming to Seattle for Emerald City Comicon March 1-3, 2013 and tickets are on sale now.

Daredevil That Could Have Been- Groovy Man!

Time is running on Fox keeping the movie rights to Daredevil. Director Joe Carnahan has released his “sizzle reel” showing the 1970’s vibe his take on the The Man Without Fear would have been. This reel is reportedly how Carnahan sold his Serpico style pitch to the studio. The reel combines art from Frank Miller’s acclaimed Born Again storyline with music and footage from 1970’s movies like Superfly and The Warriors and the 2005 Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck. This film would have been set in 1974 in a very violent Hell’s Kitchen. Can you dig it?

Given the current success of the Mark Waid’s more upbeat reboot of Daredevil, I’m not sure if the gritty version would work if the film rights do to back to Marvel. I still dream of Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist solo movies followed by a big team up. Kind of a street level Avengers.

Daredevil featuring the art of Mike Allred is out this week in comic book shops!

Thanks to Comic Book Resources for the movie update.
