One of the X-Men’s oldest and most relentless enemies rises on the big screen. En Sabah Nur was “the first mutant” and worshiped as a god. The ancient evil awakens to violent reshape the world.

We see more of the villain (Oscar Issac) and new mutants choosing sides and lining up for the battle for humanity in the new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse from Fox.

Magneto joins new mutant Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and new versions of Storm and Angel as Apocalypse’s Horsemen. Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) rejoins Charles Xavier in leading Beast, Quicksilver, Havok and new young versions of Jean Grey, Scott Summers and Nightcrawler.

GOTHAM Renewed for Season Three

Gotham will be back for a third season.

Fox announced the renewal of the Batman-prequel series and addition of Paul Reubens to cast according to Variety. Reubens (Pee-Wee Herman) will play Elijah Van Dahl, father of Oswald Cobbleplot aka Penguin.

Wrath of the Villains is the overarching theme of the second half of the second season as Bruce Wayne gets closer to finding his parents’ killer and Detective Jim Gordon faced Mr. Freeze and what could be the biggest threat to good and bad guys in Gotham City: Professor Hugo Strange. Marvel reveals new art from John Cassaday and a new interview with Joss Whedon about their upcoming reunion. The Astonishing X-Men team will work together again on a new story for Captain America’s 75th Anniversary as revealed in EW.

The Avengers director and acclaimed artist collaborated on an iconic and influential X-Men run. The new story starring Steve Rogers will appear in Captain America: Sam Wilson #7.

This is Whedon’s first time writing the hero in a comic book.

X-MEN VS X-MEN And INHUMANS In CIVIL WAR II

X-Men vs. Inhumans – it’s on as just one of the battles in Civil War II.

The seeds of war were sown as soon as the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now emerged. In the aftermath of Secret Wars, we learned the Terrigen Cloud that was creating new Inhumans was attacking mutant DNA. Storm is leading her Extraordinary X-Men to rescue and take mutants to X-Haven while Magneto’s Uncanny X-Men are taking on a corporation profiting from the genetic crisis.

Cyclops is presumed dead after attacking the Inhumans. Beast is actually working with Medusa in Uncanny Inhumans.

SECRET WARRIORS for AGENTS OF SHIELD For Your Consideration

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to take inspiration the comic canon of Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Warriors run.

As the series returns, we see the introduction of Slingshot (Yo-Yo Rodriguez) and Hive (a dead Grant Ward now possessed by an Inhuman entity) more Inhumans and an even closer version of the comic book squad of super-powered agents lead by the Inhuman Quake (Chloe Bennet as Skye turned Daisy).

One of our 16 geek wishes for 2016 was the introduction of more Secret Warriors on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Is Oscar winner J.K. Simmons leaving The Daily Bugle for Gotham City’s top cop job?

Simmons has joined the cast of Justice League as Commissioner Jim Gordon according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The two-part film is the follow up to Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, which sets up the new DC Comics Universe with Warner Brothers.

The super-powered sequel will feature new Batman Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman with Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman on the team. The film begins production next month.
