A junior X-Man jumps up the front burner in Amazing X-Men #13 this week.

“Anole’s deepest fears are unleashed on the streets of New York City”  in this tale by James Tynion IV (Batman Eternal).

Nightcrawler and Northstar attempt to save Victor. This marks a reunion between Anole and his mentor Northstar – two of the openly gay Marvel characters.

Clark Gregg is the latest celebrity guest to join the roster of stars at the biggest pop culture event in the Pacific Northwest. Gregg is best known as Agent Phil Coulson from Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

OSCAR ISAAC as Villain of X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Oscar Isaac is “The First One” as Fox’s X-Men film franchise evolves.

The actor has signed to play the titular villain of X-Men: Apocalypse according to Variety. The rising star (Inside LLewyn Davis, Drive,  A Most Violent Year) has a role in Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

Apocalypse was seen in the post-credits sequence of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

In Catwoman Volume 5: Race of Thieves Selina Kyle enters a contest to become the world’s best thief.

Selina is outgunned against more super powered criminals but she still has edge. The globe-trotting arc is now collected in the latest volume out this week.

Race of Thieves was part of Ann Nocenti’s to push Selina Kyle in new directions. The former Catwoman writer was part of the DC Comics team at Emerald City Comicon for Batman 75th.

Marvel heroes dominated the movie box-office. 2014 is the year Marvel really went into orbit with a ragtag bunch of “losers” who injected new excitement into their cinematic universe.

Here are great gifts for Marvel fans inspired by this year’s hit.

Guardians of the Galaxy was Marvel’s biggest gamble yet with little known heroes who aren’t really superheroes. Chris Pratt was Peter Quill/Star-Lord who assembled Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot into unlikely heroes against the Ronan the Accuser. Writer/director James Gunn gave fans a Star Wars for the Marvel Universe. The film also introduced the Nova Corps, Nebula and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
