Will a Marvel movie win an Oscar?

Two Marvel movies are nominated.

The Academy Awards are this Sunday but here are our Superhero Movie Awards.

The 2014 Superhero Movie Season began with the Marvel universe changing Captain America movie that shattered S.H.I.E.L.D. and the status quo then Spidey came out swinging against an army of super villains then X-Men from past and present united to reshape the franchise and finally a motley crew from outer space conquered the planet!

The Man of Steel, The Dark Knight, The Amazon Warrior and now The King!

Director Zack Snyder revealed the first look of Jason Momoa as Aquaman via Twitter.

The photo of the regal warrior came with the phrase “Unite the Seven.”

This could mean the Seven Seas, Aquaman’s domain under the ocean, or the seven core members of the Justice League.

Wolverine is back for Secret Wars.

The Logan you love is still dead but Old Man Logan is back in a new tie-in series as that brutal future reality becomes a Warzone of Battleworld.

Brian Bendis and Andrea Sorrentino bring back the future X-Man from the Old Man Logan epic by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.

New INFINITY GAUNTLET in SECRET WARS

A classic epic get an injection of new blood.

The world of The Infinity Gauntlet becomes a Secret Wars Warzone in a new tie-in series by Gerry Duggan (Hulk, Deadpool, Nova) and Dustin Weaver (Avengers, SHIELD).

Thanos is in pursuit of the legendary artifact, aliens ravage the planet but a family connected to the Nova Force rises to stand against them.

“It’s a unique opportunity to showcase a family of survivors dealing with an alien invasion that was devastatingly successful. Families are fun to write. They push and pull each other in different directions. The Bakians are really backed into a corner; it will be fun to see them try to overcome their many, horrible problems,” Duggan told Marvel.com. CHLOE BENNET of AGENTS OF SHIELD at EMERALD CITY COMICON

Emerald City Comicon fans will get a chance to see not one but two Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at this year’s big event.

Emerald City Comicon announced Chloe Bennet will join the cast of celebrity guests including Clark Gregg (aka Director Phil Coulson) at the Pacific Northwest pop culture event.

Bennet plays Agent Skye on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but comics fanboys and girls now know she’s really Daisy Johnson aka Quake. When the series returns we’ll know more about Skye’s new super powers and that she may be the first Inhuman to appear in the Marvel Cinematic/TV Universe.
