The first Spider-Woman sports a new look with a new status quo this week.

Following the success of Spider-Verse, Silk and Spider-Gwen are swinging in new series but never forget the staying power of the original Spider-Woman.

From superspy to Avenger to her new role, fan-favorite Jessica Drew strikes out on her first mission since the Spider-Verse finale.

Drew’s profile is soaring higher thanks to a new series by writer Dennis Hopeless with a costume designed by Kris Anka. Continue reading SPIDER-WOMAN, New Look & Mission

Robert Downey Jr. teased a “big announcement” in 8 days along with his Iron Man character poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron last week via Twitter.

What will it be?

Here are four theories for your consideration:

Iron Man/Spider-Man

RDJ is Marvel’s biggest box-office champ so why not have him help Spidey start swinging again. RDJ joined Captain America: Civil War. When Spidey joined Avengers in the Brian Bendis run, Peter Parker found a mentor in Tony Stark. I’d love to see Parker and Stark work together in a team-up film. It’s possible RDJ will announce he will appear in the Marvel/Sony Spider-Man film following Civil War. Continue reading ROBERT DOWNEY JR’s Big Announcement: Four Theories

Jai Courtney is on the road promoting Insurgent but comics fans are excited for his upcoming role as a classic DC comics villain in Suicide Squad.

Courtney returned to KOMO 4 Seattle to discuss the sequel to Divergent, the sequel to last year’s sci-fi hit co-starring Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller (the new Reed Richards in Fantastic Four this August.)

Courtney reprises his role as Eric, ruthless leader of the Dauntless.

Now it’s off to play Flash Rogue: Boomerang.

Seattle’s man in Hollywood Scott Carty asked Courtney about Suicide Squad: Continue reading JAI COURTNEY on DIVERGENT, SUICIDE SQUAD

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns after a literally earthshaking cliffhanger:

Agent Skye and Raina are Inhumans.

Skye is actually Daisy Johnson (better known to comics readers as Quake.)

In comics Daisy’s powers are due to her father’s experiments. Kyle MacLachlan plays the scientist known as Cal aka Calvin Zabo, the twisted scientist who becomes the monstrous Mister Hyde.

Producers decided to make Daisy’s powers due to her Inhuman DNA as a way to introduce the race in the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. Continue reading INHUMANS for AGENTS OF SHIELD

A brand new Guardians of the Galaxy book that may feel like blast from the past.

Guardians writer Brian Michael Bendis launches Guardians Team-Up with legendary artist Arthur Adams this week.

Bendis is acclaimed for his Avengers run. This is an opportunity to revisit a very different Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

“Actually one of the reasons I made this choice was the [current] Avengers don’t resemble my era Avengers, if I’m going to refer to them that way, at all. I thought “that’s fun, let’s do that.” Continue reading AVENGERS Revisited In GUARDIANS TEAM-UP
