The milestone Uncanny X-Men #600 marks the end of an era by Brian Michael Bendis. This week the fan favorite writer’s final issue wraps up his run on Uncanny X-Men and All-New X-Men.

From Cyclops and his Revolution vs. S.H.I.E.L.D. to Battle of the Atom to The Black Vortex we saw plenty of action and intrigue with classic and new enemies.

What about the surprising team bonding, romantic twists and personal moments that show why the X-Men are a family….dysfunctional but a family.

Here are some of our favorite moments of the Bendis X-Men run: Continue reading X-MEN BEST OF BENDIS

Confession:

I was not eager for the return of Jean Grey. Ever since the birth of Hope Summers and up to the All-New Marvel Now teaser, Jean’s possible return was teased.

I thought poor Jean had been through enough after deaths and resurrections. I even wrote I love you Jean Grey, stay dead.

Then Brian Michael Bendis took on the X-Men and brought Jean back in a way no one was expecting. The blast from the past reinvigorated the X-Men’s future.

Bendis will leave the franchise with Uncanny X-Men #600. As the fan-favorite writer looks back on his run, he reveals his favorite moments and achievements. I had to share this one about the beloved Marvel girl. Continue reading JEAN GREY ALIVE by BENDIS

As the world waits for SPECTRE, the new James Bond adventure, there’s a new mission from Marvel Comics in 2016 that may lure spy fans into the world of Stark…Tony Stark.

Marvel confirmed a second book starring the Armored Avenger by Brian Michael Bendis who will team up with his Daredevil artist Alex Maleev for International Iron Man.

Maleev called the new book “Bond meets Tony on a speedboat” in a new Marvel interview.

Bendis agreed calling it “a super hero James Bond story.”

Tony chased Madame Masque in the first issue of the new International Iron Man leading to the return of a major villain with a major makeover. More on that below but Tony’s globe-trotting adventures are just beginning. Continue reading STARK Goes BOND in INTERNATIONAL IRON MAN

Spectre of IAN FLEMING in SPECTRE

The spectre of Ian Fleming fills SPECTRE.

In interviews the heirs of Albert R. “Cubby” say their famous father would say always go back to the Fleming books when in doubt about the direction of the 007 film franchise.

EON Productions did just that when they reset the series by hiring Daniel Craig and making a film based on the first Fleming novel, Casino Royale.

As fans eagerly await for SPECTRE, the spirit of Ian Fleming and Albert Broccoli is clear and present in the 24th Bond film. It’s astonishing to think after more than 50 years and all those films there are still elements of Fleming’s books we are seeing for the first time in the film franchise. Where was Simmons?

Dr. Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) was abducted by a strange artifact of the Inhumans and thrown on an alien planet…or was she?

Simmons was rescued by the team in a bold rescue plan by Dr. Leo Fitz.

Simmons obviously endured traumatic experiences. What happened to her? What did she do to survive?

On this week’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. producers will reveal how Simmons survived on this strange blue world evading aliens. Will we learn where Jemma was on how it connects to the big picture of the series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Here are four alien worlds from comics where we think Jemma could have been: Continue reading Where Was SIMMONS? Four AGENTS OF SHIELD Theories
