Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange?
We picked the Sherlock star as our runner-up when speculation began stirring for Marvel’s Master of the Mystic Arts. We even suggested the villain from Star Trek: Into Darkness would make a sinister Mephisto!
Then when it looked Johnny Depp was in the running we chose Cumberbatch as one of Strange’s villains.
As the Doctor Strange movie news is on the fast track here are the allies and enemies who should be summon for his big screen debut.
For Your Consideration:
Rosamunde Pike as Clea. The Gone Girl and Bond girl (Die Another Day) star is perfect to play the cool sorcerer’s apprentice turned lover. Clea is the white-haired daughter of a servant to Dormannu and mistress of the Dark Dimension.
Night Nurse aka Linda Carter gives aid and comfort to the super hero community to thank the superhero who saved her life. Some speculate this character will be played by Rosario Dawson but with a different name (Claire Temple) in the Daredevil Netflix. Readers of Doctor Strange: The Oath may remember how Carter helped Strange find a cure for the cancer afflicting his servant Wong. Strange and Carter became lovers but since split.
Baron Mordo is Strange’s greatest rival. We originally picked Javier Bardem buut after seeing a glimpes of Andy Serkis in the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer I think we’ve switched our vote. Some fans speculate Serkis is Ulysses Klaw (the Black Panther villain) but my first instinct was Mordo.
