The screenwriters of Captain America: The Winter Soldier are working on the sequel starring the Star-Spangled Avenger.

After introducing Winter Soldier, Falcon, Batroc, Sharon Carter and the S.H.I.E.L.D. traitor who could become Crossbones – which members of Cap’s cast will appear in the sequel?

After a talking Raccoon and Tree, is the world ready for a giant floating head?

Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely hint at the villain they want to use in a new SFX Interview and the challenges of working him in:

“I want to put Modok into something, but you can’t just drop a giant floating head in! It’s not like “Oh, we have to go talk to this guy – there’s something I should tell you about him first…” [laughs]. Suddenly the whole movie needs to take on that structure in order to accommodate him. I never win that fight!”

George Tarleton was an A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) scientist transformed into MODOK (Mobile Organism Designed Only for Killing.) After a career in crime and terror and going up against Cap, Avengers and Hulk, MODOK is working with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the pages of Secret Avengers.

The team says a conspiracy involving the Secret Empire from the comics help inspire the script for Winter Soldier along with the Ed Brubaker run on the book.
