War is coming! The heroes are rallying behind Doctor Fate in this week’s Earth 2 #11 as an enemy from planet Apokolips becomes dangerously real! In the last issue the New Gods exploded into James Robinson’s epic: Mister Miracle and Big Barda but could one of Darkseid’s powerhouse enforcers invade in this week’s issue?
This is just the beginning of major changes to the series: The Source revealed a first look at the Batman of Earth 2 from the upcoming Earth 2 Annual by Robinson and Yildiray Cinar, CAFU and Julius Gomez. JSA fans will be thrilled to see Doctor Fate in this week’s Earth 2 #11 but the mystical master isn’t the only hero arriving! DC revealed the other half of the gatefold cover to this issue at Wondercon showing Mister Miracle and Big Barda.
“I’m very lucky they’re allowing me to write Mister Miracle and Barda,” Robinson said. “The only thing I will say is that there are mainly New Genesis characters on the main prime. On Earth 2, it’s mostly Apokolips villains and Mister Miracle and Barda. … Some of the characters you’re going to be seeing are Bedlam and Kanto.”
Robinson told fans to watch for Hourman and Ted Grant who will become Wildcat in issue 19.
“It was always my plan to make it Justice Society,” he said of the Earth 2 heroes. “I think at a point where you have the heroes of Earth 2 meeting the main Earth, you have to have the Justice Society. As the book moves forward in the next five months, you’re going to have more a sense of this team taking shape.”
Robinson teases an appearance by Red Arrow in issue 14 and how the death of Alan Scott’s partner is tied to Wildcat and other storylines.
