Marvel makes it official: Bradley Cooper is a real animal!
Academy Award nominated actor and “The World’s Sexiest Man Alive” (according to People magazine once upon a time) Bradley Cooper will be the voice of Rocket Raccoon in Marvel’s big screen version of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Cooper joins Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax and Zoe Saldana as Gamora in the movie based on the Marvel comic book. The final team member to be cast is Groot – a tree-like alien. There have been rumors Vin Diesel will voice Groot but no confirmation yet.
The villains include: Benicio Del Toro as The Collector (a cosmic level foe tied to Thanos,) Karen Gillan as Nebula and Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, a member of the Kree alien race.

James Gunn is directing the film about an Earth pilot stranded in space who assembles diverse aliens into an “Avengers in space” team against cosmic threats.
Not what I expected but Cooper has the acting cred and comic timing to pull off the talking killer Raccoon.
When I first head Del Toro might join I immediately thought he would be the voice of the Raccoon but I’m thrilled he’s one of the big bads and I think I can head Cooper’s voice as I reread GG volume one again.
The Guardians blast off in August of 2014.
