One of the biggest Marvel mysteries of the year is coming to a close next week in Uncanny Avengers #5.
It all began with major revelation in this week’s Avengers and X-Men: AXIS #7 shaking Marvel, Magneto and Avengers history and future.
Magneto was not really the father of Wanda and Pietro. The story led to a new volume of Uncanny Avengers as Wanda and Pietro led a squad to Counter Earth and a showdown with a classic villain.
Next week in issue 5 we learn “the truth that will shock Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.”
In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the twins were the results of Hydra experiments involving alien technology.
What was the editorial origin of change to these Avengers’ history:
“Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch’s history has been fairly stable in recent years, but if you go back it hasn’t always been that way. They have kind of a confused and byzantine history. We’ve been told different things about them at different points, and we’ve believed different things about who and what they were. So we’re going to delve into all of that again,” Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort told Comic Book Resources.
Next week’s issue is the showdown between the The High and Low Evolutionary.
Next month Marvel will reveal more new books coming this fall following the aftermath of Secret Wars. Wanda and Pietro are not part of the All-New, All-Different Avengers. Will “the truth” about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver led to a new team and destiny for the tortured twins?
