Director Bryan Singer revealed a new character and casting addition for X-Men: Days of Future Past via Twitter. Fan BingBing will play Blink according to Deadline.
Blink is a teleporter created in Uncanny X-Men #317 and just when you thought Clarice Ferguson would go on to be part of Generation X but she died in the Phalanx Covenant storyline.
I’ve often said Blink is the James Dean of X-Men. Clarice was immediately popular but was killed off only a month after her first appearance.
Blink later became what I would call the Elektra of the X-Men. She came popping up again and again.
A more confident Blink was introduced in the parallel universe epic – Age of Apocalypse. Blink starred in her own mini-series and lead a team of dimension hopping mutants in Exiles. During the Necrosha storyline it was revealed Clarice did not die but was trapped in another dimension. The villain Selene turned Blink against her old friends – for a while.
Blink has used her teleportation powers to cut enemies in half. No word on if the Blink in the film will be good, evil or a shade of grey…or if she’ll be pink and magenta!
