Black Adam is one of the classic foes stealing the spotlight in Villains Month this September.
DC Comics shared a preview of Black Adam and the New 52 debut of other fan-favorite characters in his pantheon designed by Edgar Salazar:
“If you’ve read Justice League #22, you might be wondering how Black Adam will be starring in his own Villains Month one-shot come this September.
After all (spoilers ahead!), wasn’t the purpose of Shazam’s trip to Khandaq to scatter Black Adam’s ashes in his homeland?
Justice League of America #7.4: Black Adam will pick up directly following the events of Justice League #22. And if you recall correctly, Shazam never did complete what he went to Khandaq to do (that pesky Justice League and the local military got in the way!). So in the continuation of this story, expect to see the birth of the next phase of Black Adam’s legacy. This one-shot will also serve as the New 52 introduction of two fan-favorite characters: Amon and Adriana. Amon is a militaristic fighter involved with an organization called Sons of Adam, which have been called everything from terrorists to freedom fighters – depending on which side you’re on. Meanwhile, Adriana has devoted her life to creating change in Khandaq through peaceful and non-violent means.
Throughout this story, these siblings will both experience quite radical changes. But how are Amon and Adriana tied to Black Adam?”
