Big announcements and teasers at Marvel’s Cup O’Joe Panel at SDCC! Here are my favorite highlights:
Wolverine: Origin II by Kieron Gillen and Adam Kubert! Marvel goes back into Wolverine’s untold past in a new limited series coming this Fall.
Inhuman – the previously announced 2014 series by Matt Fraction. I’m thrilled to see this family rise to the forefront of the Marvel Universe.
“Inhuman: the next huge franchise for the Marvel Universe with a new kind of super hero,” said X-Men Editor Nick Lowe.
“A year ago we told you Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova were characters to watch. Inhuman is the gamechanger in the Marvel Universe post-Infinity.” – teased Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso.
Revolutionary War, a limited series beginning next year by Andy Lanning bringing back the Marvel UK characters. (Pete Wisdom? Please)
Young Avengers will feature an all-star team of guest artist including Becky Cloona, Joe Quinones, Ming Dyole joining Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie for a story called The Afterparty.
Uncanny Avengers is the unity team following AvX but looks for cracks and divisions to grow:
“Look to some announcements coming on Sunday to touch upon how the Avengers and X-Men co-exist or don’t in Uncanny Avengers. It shouldn’t work and it isn’t right now. We’re building to the consequences,” said writer Rick Remender.
Avengers Arena became the home of X-23, Runaways and Avengers Academy graduates. The initial story of kids fighting to the death on Arcade’s island seemed like a finite scenario.
“We have plans for Avengers Arena after some of them survive their ordeal on Murder World.” said Axel Alonso.
Hawkeye by Matt Fraction is a breakout hit focusing on Clint Barton’s life when he’s not an Avenger.
“We do have a new book coming up in the spirit of Hawkeye juxtaposing a characters ‘normal’ life against their adventures as a super hero,” teased Axel Alonso.
Who will star in this? Stay tuned?
