A new era of Justice dawns!
Ben Affleck shared the new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Fans got to see Affleck and Henry Cavill spar as Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent met each other before the action ramped up including Wonder Wonder (Gal Gadot) jumping into the arena after the reveal of a powerhouse villain…and we’re not talking about Lex Luthor!
Here are our favorite moments and big burning questions:
When Clark Meets Bruce:
Clark Kent grills Bruce Wayne about the Batman vigilante.
Wayne fires back about The Daily Planet’s coverage of Superman and the “alien who burn the whole place down” which demonstrates the growing backlash against the Man of Steel as an alien threat.
Then Affleck steals the trailer with “maybe it’s the Gotham City in me but I have a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns” while we see what appears to be a statue of Robin with graffiti by the Joker which could mean the back story of how Robin (Jason Todd) was killed by the Clown Prince of Crime.
The Architect of War?
“Son of Krypton vs. Bat of Gotham” declares Lex Luthor. The billionaire genius is clearly fueling the fire leading to the war of heroes but does know their secret identities?
Enter Doomsday?
“If man won’t kill God…the Devil will do it” declares Luthor. It appears Lex has been pushing Batman to take out Superman but turns to creating his own super weapon to destroy the Man of Steel?
Luthor has the deceased body of General Zod and transforms him into Doomsday? How does he do it?
The Kryptonian monster is famous for killing Superman in the comics but it appears the origin of Doomsday is changing from canon for this super showdown.
Desert Warefare?
Why is Batman in his desert gear? Why is an army bowing to Superman in an underground bunker in the same desert setting. Could this be Khandaq – the fictional Middle Eastern nation and home of Shazam villain Black Adam?
Winged Warriors?
Who are what is the swarm of winged warriors in a desert battle with Batman? Are they Luthor’s soldiers, Batman’s allies or could be they be Parademons – the winged monsters of Darkseid…said to be the villain of Justice League movie?
Wonder Woman Wows!
Finally…a sense of humor, fun and wonder with the arrival of Wonder Woman.
Don’t get me wrong – Diana makes a powerful entrance.
When the Amazon warrior joins the fight against Doomsday we finally get a moment of fun and slight touch of humor with Batman and Superman asking, “Is she with you?” “I thought she was with you!”
And DC’s holy trinity stands together…the Dawn of Justice and the birth of a League!
Is Doomsday what brings Aquaman and other heroes to join the fight?
