BATMAN V SUPERMAN Biggest Questions

courtesy Warner Brothers Entertainment

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is here.

Box office smashed.

Warner Brothers established the extended DC Comics Universe and set the stage for new solo and team films.

The Man of Steel vs. The Dark Knight, the emergence of Wonder Woman and more meta-humans on the Earth and below the surface and a surprise ending leaving fans with a ton of moments to ponder.

Here are our biggest questions:

SPOILER ALERT!

If you haven’t seen stop reading now.

Seriously.

Here it comes:

Is Superman really dead?

The final shot of BvS is the dirt thrown down by Lois floating above the coffin. The shot is similar to when the ice and rock start to rumble in Man of Steel when Kal-El finally soared for the first time. In comics Superman is resurrected with the Fortress of Solitude with a regeneration matrix of Kryptonian origin. Was Superman really dead or just comatose from the wound after prolonged exposure of Kryptonite in the spear and previous green gas bomb fights with Batman? Was the dirt touched by Lois enough to send a signal to awaken Clark?

Batman’s premonition or nightmare?

The Dark Knight was having a dream within a dream? After one dream fighting an evil Superman, Bruce later has a vision of The Flash warning him to gather the Justice League and Lois is the key. Barry says, “You were right about him, Lois is the key” and when Parademons join the desert dream, it’s certainly an omen of Darkseid. Is Flash warning Batman that the ruler of Apokolips will use Lois to turn Superman into his soldier for his invasion of Earth?

When is The Flash traveling from in the vision?

Maybe Bruce’s dream was a buried memory? Maybe Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) really did use the Speed Force to go back in time to give Batman (his future ally) the warning. When did Flash speed from? Was it a future where Superman or Darkseid conquered Earth?

“You were right about him, Lois is the key.” Is the death of Lois what turns Superman and if she can be saved, so can Earth?

Wonder Woman’s seclusion and return?

We learned in Luthor’s files that Diana fought in World War I then vowed to not fight again. Could it be that Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) is lost in 1918 in the upcoming Wonder Woman film? Is Trevor resurrected, regenerated or is a modern day Trevor the great-grandson or the WWI hero? Is this why Diana returns to the world of men and does she sense a looming threat? The Amazons are descended from Greek myths and legends so Darkseid could be known to Diana.

The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg Files?

While we’re talking about Luthor’s meta-human files, when were they taken? How long has Cyborg been active? It looks like Victor Stone’s father uses a Mother Box (see below) to save his son. If Diana’s photo goes back to 1918, how old is Aquaman? The underwater footage showing the King of Atlantis (Jason Momoa) swimming until his destroys the camera with his trident so the footage must be modern. In the Flash file, Barry is looking kinda scenester as he helps stop a robber in a bodega. When does he become the clean cut police forensic scientist by day and Scarlet Speedster by night?

Does Luthor know about the Suicide Squad?

If Lex has files on the good guys, does he know about the villain either through his research or his government connections?

Who’s hungry and coming to Earth?

Should Luthor’s line have been ping, ping, ping instead of ding, ding, ding? (A reference to the sound of the Mother Box – technology from the planet Apokolips – ruled by Darkseid.) What looks like an Omega symbol in the desert sand and parademons of Batman’s nightmare are big omens but if Luthor knew about the other meta-humans, does he know about the evil despot, his horrific world and the Anti-Life Equation? (As you can see Darkseid bears an Omega symbol and he has deadly Omega beams of energy that shoot from his eyes.)

Wayne Manor in shambles?

Why does Bruce’s family estate appear as a burnt, abandoned husk? Was Bruce’s home destroyed in a showdown with a classic villain in the past and that’s why he’s living in the modern lake house?

Was the statue a tribute to Jason Todd killed by the Joker?

Fans have been speculating since the trailer but don’t really know but it appears a Robin was killed. The sidekick’s killer or someone with a sick sense of humor spray painted “Ha, Ha – joke’s on you Batman.”

Who was Bruce sleeping with? At the cool bachelor pad by the water, Bruce wakes up with someone. Is it just the playboy one night stand or is this a significant supporting character ( Selena Kyle, Vicky Vale, Julie Madison, Silver St. Cloud,  Sasha Bordeaux) we could see in a future movie?

What are your biggest questions about seeing the superhero showdown?

Wonder Woman is the next DC film coming next summer then Justice League, Part One is scheduled for November 17, 2017, Part Two for June 14, 2019.
