One of Batman’s big secrets is revealed in the pages of Superman #5?

Clark Kent learned a few sneaky tactics working with Bruce Wayne over years. The Man of Steel uses The Dark Knight’s arsenal in his battle with the Eradicator in this week’s chapter.

That’s not the only Bat-secret weapon in the Kent family’s fight with the Eradicator. Writers Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason bring back a weapon from their acclaimed Batman and Robin run.

What will Batman’s reaction be if he finds out?
Could it divide the two icons who already have a rift of distrust as seen in the new Justice League?

Before we continue breaking down the impact of this big issue here’s a SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not read Superman #5 yet stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.

The DC Comics Rebirth Superman and and Lois Lane are the pre-New 52 version of the beloved couple who are married and raising a son thanks to the events of Convergence. Batman and the Justice League aren’t sure if they can trust this Superman. The Man of Steel (The New 52 version who dated Wonder Woman) died before Rebirth.

In Son of Superman, this Lois and Clark are raising their son Jon in secret when the Eradicator strikes. The Kryptonian weapon created by Zod seeks to purge the human blood from Jon.

In this week’s chapter Superman, Lois and Jon take the fight away from Earth. Clark hopes to hide Lois and Jon on the moon…in the Batcave?

Yes, Batman has a Batcave on the moon armed with Bat probes to protect it from intruders.

Clark reveals he “took a page from Batman’s playbook…got tired of him shadowing me…so I decided to shadow him a few times.”

Just when you think Batman can’t get any cooler. He has a Batcave in space!

The Eradicator tracks the Super family and attacks.

Lois refuses to let anyone threaten her son. The intrepid reporter discovers the Hellbat and suits up for battle.

Fans of Tomasi and Gleason’s Batman and Robin run will remember the Hellbat suit. This armor was designed by Bruce and built by the Justice League to deal with huge threats in extreme battle scenarios. Bruce in the Hellbat suit went on a rogue mission to the hellish world Darkseid’s Apokolips in search of resurrecting his son Damian Wayne. Now Lois armors up in the Hellbat to protect her son and gives the Eradicator a beating. The battle is far from over as the issue ends with a cliffhanger.

This issue leaves with big burning questions:

How many Batcaves does Batman have?

What else does Clark know about Batman’s covert operations?

Will Superman’s Batcave gambit cause a rift and repurcussions from the Dark Knight?

Will son have to join father in order to defeat the Eradicator?
