BATMAN/CATWOMAN 2020

Big changes ahead for Dark Knight fans: A new book. An ending for an epic run. A showdown with a major villain.

And The Bat and The Cat are together again – at least in a brand new book.

DC Comics confirmed BATMAN writer Tom King is leaving the title but will launch a new Bat-book co-starring Catwoman.

King’s last issue will be BATMAN #85 – the conclusion to the CITY OF BANE arc.

No word yet on the new BATMAN creative team but DC revealed the title will return to a monthly schedule starting in January 2020.

King will join his HEROES IN CRISIS artist Clay Mann for a new 12-issue BATMAN/CATWOMAN series.

The publisher said Bat-family books DETECTIVE COMICS, CATWOMAN, NIGHTWING, BATGIRL and others will continue into next year with no immediate changes to the schedules.

CITY OF BANE begins in BATMAN #75 on July 17 by King and artist Tony S. Daniel. King’s final arc picks up the story he’s been building for three years since DC Rebirth. Bruce Wayne is broken. Part of Bruce’s lowest point is being left at the altar (or rooftop) by Selina Kyle. Bane rules Gotham City. Batman is MIA. The arc runs eleven issues leading to BATMAN #85 in December 2019. CITY OF BANE is integral to DC’s overall YEAR OF THE VILLAIN campaign.
