Here’s the official announcement:
Calling all gamers and Dark Knight fans! Today, DC Entertainment launched Batman: Arkham Knight, a new weekly Digital First comic book. This series is a prelude to the highly anticipated video game of the same name from Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Set prior to the events of the video game Batman: Arkham Knight, this in-continuity comic is a must-read for fans of the franchise! Batman: Arkham Knight will feature Gotham City’s most notorious villains including Penguin, Two-Face, and Harley Quinn. The story will also explore and provide additional details about the Arkham Knight, the all-new character created for the upcoming game.
“I’m having a blast crafting stories set in the world of Batman: Arkham Knight,” exclaimed writer Peter Tomasi. “There are so many great characters to play with. We’ve got exciting plans for Batman as we shake and bake him good!”
Artist Viktor Bogdanovic explains, “Batman: Arkham Knight is my first work for DC Comics and I’m so thrilled to be a part of this project. I don’t eat, I don’t sleep, and I rarely leave my Batcav… sorry… apartment. Best time of my life!”
“It’s Batman! I mean really, it’s frickin’ Batman! The artwork in this book is amazing. Vik’s pencils are pushing me artistically in new directions, which is so much fun,” stated Art Thibert. “I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I did working on it.”
Batman: Arkham Knight is written by Peter J. Tomasi (Batman and Robin) with art by Viktor Bogdanovic and Art Thibert. The cover artist for the series is Dan Panosian. Moving forward, new chapters will be released on Fridays and available for download via the DC Comics app, Readdcentertainment.com, ComiXology.com, Google Play, Kindle Store, Nook Store, iBooks and iVerse ComicsPLUS. The first print issue, which collects three digital chapters, will hit shelves on March 11.
Batman: Arkham Knight is the epic conclusion to the award-winning trilogy from Rocksteady Studios set to release on June 2, 2015. The game will be released for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows PC. Preorder for the game is now available.
