A fan favorite makes her modern DC debut taking on a Robin and exposing the truth.

But before we continue here’s a…

SPOILER ALERT!

If you have read Batman and Robin Eternal #1 stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.

Cassandra Cain bursts into action against Grayson. Daniel and Florea have given Cain a redesign but it’s her…and she’s a deadly as ever.

The daughter of David Cain and Lady Shiva became a master assassin like her parents but took on the role of Batgirl and later the Black Bat. Kelley Puckett and Damion Scott co-created Cassandra in 1999 but she’s been missing since The New 52 reboot in 2011.

Cain is now known as “Orphan.” Does Cass work for Spyral or Batman?

Cain does hold the key to the new villain connected to Batman’s past that’s emerged now that Bruce is no longer the Dark Knight.

Cain confronts Grayson with the truth.

“Mother” is ordering the murders of parents of anyone who was a Robin in the present but in the past…Batman once killed for “Mother.”

The first chapter opens and closes in the past with a child witnessing the murder of his parents in Cairo then the killer is revealed in the end…Batman with a smoking gun.

Did Batman gun down victims on Mother’s orders to create orphans…maybe even the parents of former Robins?

The conspiracy deepens as super spy Dick Grayson recalls his first mission as Robin against the Scarecrow and becomes a target of the agency he’s been working for. The Spyral operative who turns on Dick is connected to Cain.

Fan-favorite Harper Row is back and dead center on this conspiracy. After a confrontation with Jim Gordon (in Batman armor) Bluebird comes face to face with Orphan and learns “she is the most important one of all” and will be taken out.

Shadow File 14187 (the disc Cain gave Grayson) reveals a list of hundreds of names on Batcave screens with orders “Mother’s Children Must Be Terminated Before Phase III” including Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Row and Cain. Dick then witnesses Batman’s video “confession” of what he did long ago connected to Scarecrow and Mother.

The conspiracy continues Batman and Robin Eternal for the next six months by Snyder, Tynion with scripting by a team of top talents including Steve Orlando, Genevieve Valentine and Tim Seeley.
