Kurt Wagner sacrificed himself to save Hope Summers in Second Coming. Jason Aaron dropped clues that Nightcrawler could be coming back during his first year of Wolverine and the X-Men and in the Battle of the Atom finale, Logan learned that their beloved teammate and friend could be saved.
In Amazing X-Men (issue 3 out Wednesday) by Aaron – Nightcrawler is in a strange heaven or hell afterlife fighting his father Azazel with the X-Men in pursuit.
This latest teaser could mean the outcome of the first arc could lead to a Nightcrawler solo or limited series. Since Azazel is back could it mean the return of one or more of his family introduced way back in The Draco arc or maybe a Kurt will reunite with his half-sister/ex-girlfriend (it’s complicated) Amanda Sefton, who was a big supporting character in the classic Claremont period.
Maybe Kurt will become a dad to all those “bamfs” hanging at the Jean Grey School!
