Look who’s back from the dead!

As if Kang the Conqueror and the Apocalypse Twins aren’t terrifying enough, Rick Remender is going for the heart of evil in the latest chapter in his huge time twisting second Uncanny Avengers arc.

Meet the new Four Horsemen of Apocalypse:

The Sentry, Grim Reaper, Banshee and Daken, the son of Wolverine!

Robert Reynolds (aka The Sentry) was a tragic hero created by Paul Jenkins with a power level like Superman but a with a dark twist. Imagine a super hero version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde! The Sentry was a huge character in the Brian Michael Bendis Avengers era until SIEGE.

Grim Reaper came back only to be apparently killed by Rogue in issue four of Uncanny Avengers.

Banshee (father of Siryn in X-Factor who now goes by her dad’s name) was killed by Vulcan in Ed Brubaker’s X-Men: Deadly Genesis.

Daken: Dark Wolverine #23 courtesy Marvel.com

Daken was the child Logan never knew he had. Daken assumed the role of Wolverine in Dark Avengers for a time. Logan killed his son in the finale of Remender’s Uncanny X-Force run.

Each of the new Horseman are the key to a painful and tragic part of the X-Men and Avengers history.

Apocalypse has twisted mutants into becoming his enforcers in the past. Angel, Gambit and Sunfire have been transformed as Horsemen. This would be the first time Apocalypse resurrected the dead to create his soldiers. With Kang involved these could be living versions from different time periods!

Uncanny Avengers #10 hits this week.
