AVENGERS WORLD #1 Review

Captain America declared Earth an Avengers World when Marvel Now kicked off a new era under Jonathan Hickman.

The All-New Marvel Now kicks off with a global mystery in Avengers World #1.  The action begins in the amazing collection of prologue stories in All-New Marvel Now Point One. Nick Spencer and Rags Morales set up a new status quo among the heroes and SHIELD in their story. What’s even more fun is to see former New Mutants and Avenger rookies Sunspot and Cannonball see more field action as Spencer sets the stage for an upcoming war with an A.I.M. like you’ve never seen before.

The story continues in Avengers World #1. Jonathan Hickman, Spencer and artist Stefano Caselli don’t miss a beat as three squads take on crisis after crisis in three trouble spots around the globe. Steve, Tony and Maria said Avengers and SHIELD need to get bigger and they’re going to need ever member to tackle what’s coming.
Hickman and Spencer create a fast-paced thrill ride as breakout rookies (Sunspot, Cannonball, Smasher) team with fan-favorite veterans. My favorite new Avenger, Shang-Chi, looks to be the focus on a big story arc with a badass Wolverine villain who just got bigger, too. This first issue comes with new energy, fun and excitement at the battles ahead for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
