A brand new Guardians of the Galaxy book that may feel like blast from the past.
Guardians writer Brian Michael Bendis launches Guardians Team-Up with legendary artist Arthur Adams this week.
Bendis is acclaimed for his Avengers run. This is an opportunity to revisit a very different Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
“Actually one of the reasons I made this choice was the [current] Avengers don’t resemble my era Avengers, if I’m going to refer to them that way, at all. I thought “that’s fun, let’s do that.”
The last time the Guardians saw the Avengers, it was during Infinity and during Avengers Assemble. A lot has happened [since then] and I think that’s always interesting stuff,” Bendis told Marvel.com.
I was not desperate to return to my [era Avengers]—but rather to [explore] “oh let’s take a little spin on what’s going on now.”
Bendis will leave the Children of the Atom with Uncanny X-Men #600 but resigned a Marvel exclusive agreement. There’s no word on his next big project after Old Man Logan, a Secret Wars Battleworld tie-in series.
The original Marvel Team-Up featured Spider-Man and guest stars.
Guardians Team-Up #1 arrives Wednesday.
