Jonathan Hickman. Nick Spencer. Mike Deodato.
Those 3 reasons are enough to make sure you pick up Avengers #12.
Here are more:
Children’s storytime with Thor.
Hawkeye and Spider-Woman babysitting.
Hyperion and Thor bonding over the perils of being a God and God-like.
The return of two classic villains.
Genetic bombs have created zones across the globe where evolution has been twisted. A new race of children has been born (and are growing fast) in the Savage Land and a squad of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes goes on a different kind of mission becoming Earth’s Mightiest caregivers?
The issue is a wonderful chapter filled with humor, drama, team building with still plenty of action and mystery. Like the previous issue with Shang-Chi in the spotlight, this chapter is an enjoyable side trip that still fits in Hickman’s compelling journey towards Infinity.
There’s a cameo in this issue that hits my geeky heart since the first comic book I ever read was set in the Savage Land and starred this creepy fanatical villain.
