AVENGERS #19 Review

Avengers #19 is a huge, can’t miss issue of Infinity packed with action, powerful moments and betrayals with stunning art by Leinil Francis Yu demonstrating the darkness and desperation in the outer space conflict.

Captain Marvel and her squad are prisoners of the Builders. Carol’s Binary powers are flaring up and the Kree in her makes the alien tormentors intrigued. There are intense cringe-inducing moments as Carol is at the mercy of an imposing female Ex Niholo that’s like Clarice Starling tied up at being stroked and prodded by Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lambs.

While Captain America and Gladiator plan a bold countermove against The Build fleet, the Galactic Council begins to crumble. A traitor is exposed and pays a terrible price for trusting The Builders. Jonathan Hickman continues to pay off in a big way every plot and counterplot he’s been building since taking over Avengers and New Avengers.
