Captain Jack is back in an all-new Torchwood comic by John Barrowman.
Titan Comics announced that Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood will return in an all-new ongoing comic series starring the dashing Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper.
The new book is written by Captain Jack himself, John Barrowman, and Carole E. Barrowman, and with issues illustrated by Antonio Fuso and Pasquale Qualano.
The new adventures are in continuity with the new hit Torchwood audio dramas from Big Finish and as part of the official continuation of the Torchwood saga. After Suicide Squad storms the box-office on August 5th, DC Comics launches a brand new series starring a team of villains. Writer Rob Williams, artists Jim Lee and Phillip Tan will unleash the new twice monthly Suicide Squad following DC Universe Rebirth.
The new roster will have Harley Quinn, Katana, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and Killer Croc. Co-publisher Lee teased more members joining at the DC All Access panel at Emerald City Comicon.
Ben Affleck is taking the reigns of the Dark Knight’s movie future after Justice League.
Affleck will star and direct a new stand-alone Batman film. Warner Brothers Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara told theater owners at CinemaCon according to The Hollywood Reporter. At the annual meeting of movie chain operators, the Chairman noted the box-office performance of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which introduced Affleck as the new Dark Knight.
“It set up a great foundation for our DC slate, which includes at least 10 movies through 2020,” said Tsujihara, “I’m also exited to know that will be working with Ben Affleck on a stand-alone Batman movie.”
During San Diego Comic-Con last year, THR said Affleck was working with DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns on a Batman solo film and the Oscar winner has written a script according to a more recent report.
