I had to get the picture of this Kid Apocalypse cosplayer at Emerald City Comicon last weekend. As I would learn this mutant’s power is to rap! Kid Apocalypse was filming a music video at the Seattle con featuring an uncanny crew of X-Men cosplayers!
Behold Kid Apocalypse: Came From the Chain! Here’s the Youtube link. Check out a cameo from the Kid’s creator, Uncanny X-Force and now Uncanny Avengers writer, Rick Remender!
As you can tell, the Kid knows his X-Men comic book history. Here’s a link to download kidapocalypse.bandcamp.com.
Marvel COO and acclaimed artist Joe Quesada will pencil the final pages of Age of Ultron #10. Quesada joins an all-star team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artists Bryan Hitch and Carlos Pacheco on the finale of the epic series that just launched this week. Marvel shared this Age of Ultron #10 cover by Brandon Peterson.
How do you top a story about a serial killer of Gods? Drop a Godbomb! Jason Aaron kicked off his Thor: God of Thunder with the Odinson fighting a sadistic entity called The God Butcher in three time periods: Young Thor fighting with his Viking followers, Thor in a present day alien world and King Thor, the last of the Asgardians in a final battle.
Aaron will delve into the origin of Gorr, the God Butcher in Thor: God of Thunder #6 on March 13th with guest artist Butch Guice (he recently wrapped his run with Ed Brubaker on Winter Soldier.) Esad Ribic returns for issue 7, the first part chapter of the Godbomb arc.
Fans of creator Tony Daniel lined up at Emerald City Comicon 2013 for signatures and sketches from his recent work on Batman, Battle for the Cowl and Detective Comics but soon the artist will take on another DC Comics icon.
Daniel will join writer Andy Diggle for the adventures of Superman in Action Comics #19. DC shared a sneak peek of Daniel’s rendering of Superman, his allies and greatest enemy: Lex Luthor.
Sam Mendes will not return for James Bond 24. I named the Oscar winning director of Skyfall the Best Franchise Savior in My Geek Oscars.
The director of the next Bond film has a daunting task after the huge critical praise and billion dollar box office success of Skyfall. Mendes set the next 007 film up for success with his introduction of a new M, Miss Moneypenny and a new Q. The next Bond film has all the trappings even screenwriter John Logan is back to pen the new adventure. Who should direct the next James Bond film?
Let’s eliminate the obvious choice. Christopher Nolan has said he would not consider taking on 007 unless there was an opportunity to start fresh with a new actor in the role. Daniel Craig is keeping the tux.
Ultron has won. The greatest Avengers villain has defeated almost all of Earth’s heroes. A massive cityship hovers over the ruins of Manhattan. Heroes are missing. Sadistic gangs own the streets. Brian Michael Bendis and Bryan Hitch thrust us into this brutal new reality in Age of Ultron Book One.
The star of this book is Clint Barton. Hawkeye fans will love this issue as the battered Avenger fights his way through this horrific new world on a very personal mission. Imagine Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead, Wolverine Continue reading AGE OF ULTRON: Hawkeye in Hell!
Jonathan Hickman just created the most dangerous hero in the Marvel Universe in this week’s Avengers #7.
More dangerous than Hulk. More than Thor. More than The Sentry.
Hickman is transforming what would call a failed experiment from the 1980’s and turning into a fascinating, thrilling storyline for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes that will shake the foundation of Universe 616.
You don’t need to know your comic book history to enjoy the current storyline but if do remember the New Universe then it adds layers of intrigue and awe to see what Hickman if crafting.
Sam Mendes will not return to direct the next James Bond film. (Sigh)
“It has been a very difficult decision not to accept Michael and Barbara’s very generous offer to direct the next Bond movie,” the director told Empire. “Directing Skyfall was one of the best experiences of my professional life, but I have theatre and other commitments, including productions of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and King Lear, that need my complete focus over the next year and beyond.”

Keri Russell will play the female lead in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes according to the Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision. Russell will join Jason Clarke and Kodi-Smit McPhee on the sequel directed by Matt Reeves. Andy Serkis reprises his role as Caesar. (Russell has been kicking butt on The Americans and in Dark Skies.)

“They’re back!” Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember) will direct a remake of Poltergeist according to Deadline. Sam Raimi is producing the MGM remake of the horror classic by Tobe Hooper. (The original freaked me out as a kid!)
