Age of Ultron just kicked off! Marvel is giving us ominous clues to the shocking, possibly Marvel Universe changing finale in the June previews. Hank Pym’s monstrous creation returned and conquered Earth in Age of Ultron #1. Only a handful of heroes are left to stand against the humanity hating A.I. and his army of robots.
In June’s Age of Ultron #9 heroes are forced to “make the most controversial decision of their lives” and in issue #10 “the biggest secret in comics will be revealed to you! An ending so confidential…even the artists of this book don’t know what lies on the final pages.”
Marvel COO and comic book legend Joe Quesada returns to draw “a sequence that people will be talking about for years.”
How did Bruce become the Bat? Scott Snyder follows The Court of Owls and Death of the Family with an eleven part blast into the past. Batman Year Zerowill reveal the New 52 early beginnings of the Dark Knight. Snyder reveals why he wanted to tell this story:
“It’s definitely me wanting to tell this story. It really came about, I guess, about nine or 10 months ago, when I was thinking about trying to redefine, in my mind, for myself, who Bruce is in our run,” Snyder tells Comics Newsarama.
“I was thinking about who he is to Joker, and reconsidering what we were going to do after Joker. And I was just thinking about where he is emotionally, and who he is.
The gang’s almost all here for X-Men: Days of Future Past! The cast of the original trilogy and X-Men: First Class will unite for the new film based on the classic Chris Claremont comic book story involving time travel.
I would love to see founding Avenger Wasp on the big screen in the next Avengers movie but it doesn’t seem likely.
Janet Van Dyne fans can celebrate the next issue of Uncanny Avengers! In one his final acts as the Avengers writer, Brian Michael Bendis brought back Janet. Turns out Wasp didn’t die in Secret Invasion but she was in the Microverse! Wasp, Wonder Man and Sunfire join the squad made of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Children of the Atom. I wanted to share part of Rick Remender’s thoughts on how Janet will fit into the Marvel Now and this hybrid team.
I remember the formation of Image Comics. As a devoted Marvel fan I was upset my favorite artists were leaving my favorite books. Then I got my first look at W.I.L.D.Cats, Spawn, Youngblood, Cyberforce, Wetworks and so many more that followed.
I was just at an Image Comics panel at Emerald City Comicon and seeing today’s books like The Walking Dead, The Manhattan Projects, Saga, Great Pacific, BlackAcre made me think how the industry and the company has evolved. One much younger fan actually asked the creators about how the company started – maybe that was a story to be told.
It has. And it looks like it covers the good, the bad and the ugly.
Remember the movie poster for Tim Burton’s Batman Returns featuring The Bat, The Cat, The Penguin? Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny DeVito oozed hate, traded barbs and turned on each other in the 1992 film.
This June get ready for a comic book rematch as Selena Kyle and Oswald Cobblepot declare war on each other in Catwoman #21. Ann Nocenti and Rafa Sandoval bring you the battle Continue reading Catwoman vs. Penguin!
Barbara Gordon had a deadly new admirer! After surviving the Joker’s wedding plans in Death of the Family the other caped crusader is fighting a twisted new enemy! At Emerald City Comicon Gail Simone revealed she’s created a New 52 version of the Batman villain, Ventriloquist, to unleash on Batgirl! DC shared a creepy vision of the rogue that will terrify, torment and test Barbara Gordon Continue reading Batgirl’s Deadly New Admirer!
