Seattle’s Emerald City Comicon’s record growth leads to a big partnership just months before the big comic book event. ReedPOP is the world’s largest producer of pop culture events and is getting bigger with the biggest comic book show in the Pacific Northwest.
The company announces that Emerald City Comicon the ‘premiere comic book and pop culture convention in the Pacific Northwest’ has joined its family of leading experiential fan events. Showtime announced Kyle MacLachlan has officially signed on to headline the Twin Peaks revival. The new nine-episode series will start production in 2015 and is scheduled to premiere in 2016 on the 25th anniversary of the original series finale on ABC.
Original creators David Lynch and Mark Frost are back to executive produce the follow-up series set 25 years later.
MacLachlan played FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper who came to the Pacific Northwest town of Twin Peaks to solve the murder of Laura Palmer.
Fans of the beloved series will remember Cooper’s dream in which Laura said, “I’ll see you again in 25 years” and they were together again 25 years in the future.
