The mutant who (for me) representing the heart and soul of the X-Men is back.

Nightcrawler returned in the pages of Amazing X-Men. Jason Aaron’s story of the swashbuckling Kurt Wagner may remind you of the classic Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum era.

The legendary Claremont returns to share Kurt’s new adventures in Nightcrawler #1 arriving this week. Artist Todd Nauck explains his excitement for working with the writer.

“Chris Claremont was the first writer I read on a regular basis,” Nauck told Marvel.com. “It’s a thrill and an honor to be working with who I feel is the godfather of X-Men comics. It was his stories that made me care about these characters and made me a lifelong fan of the X-Men.”

Marvel revealed these pages by artist Nauck along with some all-star variant covers for the first issue.

My favorite X-Man is coming home and the legendary Claremont is telling his story.

Nightcrawler #1 arrives Wednesday.
