Fanboys are sighing.
Director Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Shaun of the Dead ) is exiting the Marvel Universe and leaving the Ant-Man film starring Paul Rudd.
Here’s the official joint statement.
“Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on ANT-MAN due to differences in their vision of the film,” the statement read. “The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”
The film stars Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Patrick Wilson and Corey Stoll.
Ant-Man follows Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.
