What’s one more X-Men book…especially if it means the beloved Fuzzy Elf returns from the dead?
At San Diego Comic Con Marvel announced a brand new X-book coming this November with an elite team searching for what many call the heart and soul of the X-Men.
Amazing X-Men by Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness will star Wolverine, Northstar, Iceman, Storm, Beast and wait for it…Firestar?
The team will go in search for Nightcrawler who made the ultimate sacrifice in Messiah Complex to save Hope Summers. If you’ve been reading Aaron’s Wolverine and the X-Men you know the clues and hints (Bamfs, Azazel) are there that could mean a return of the real Kurt Wagner.
Following the events of the X-Men 50th Anniversary: Battle of the Atom Logan assembles a team to find the truth about Kurt:
“This is the story my X-Men run has been building to since Wolverine and the X-Men #1,” Aaron tells Marvel.com. “This story will explain what those little blue Bamfs are, why they’re at the school, and what they’re up to.”
Back to the roster’s surprise addition…why Firestar?
“I’m the perfect age to be a big ‘Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends’ fan,” he says. “So I’ve always had a fondness for Firestar. I like the idea of giving her her first big shot at being an X-Man. She’s never been an X-Man, never been a part of a big X-Men cast or main book, so this is an opportunity for her to step up and be Amazing.”
As we count down to the X-Men’s 50th Anniversary it just doesn’t feel right now having Kurt in the action. Aaron aims to make things right in the mutantverse…for a little while anyway.
“This isn’t just bringing him back to his friends on the X-Men, but bringing him back to his fans.”
I’m thrilled because Nightcrawler is my favorite X-Man.
The big burning question: who will take over the Jean Grey School?

I’m loving Firestar on an X-team!
Before Harley Quinn and X-23 jumped from tv to comics – Anjelica Jones did it first! A lot of great surprises from the panels this year! She needs more than an all yellow outfit though – Firestar should read your “The Supergirls” for a makeover!
