The X-Men will evolve in 2017 with big changes but Laura Kinney is keeping the famous claws and code-name.
The former X-23 turned All-New Wolverine was among the missing mutants from the X-Men ResurrXion lineup of new books until Laura turned up on the X-Men: Prime cover.
Now Marvel revealed a new costume and arc starting with All-New Wolverine #19. The new arc picks up after Enemy of the State II and the aftermath of Inhumans vs. X-Men.
Laura is sporting a new costume inspired by Logan’s X-Force team uniforms.
Writer Tom Taylor stays on the title and is joined by artist Leonard Kirk. Immune is the new arc that begins with an alien ship crashing on Earth, the child inside saying Laura’s name before it dies and a mysterious virus.
“With the entire world threatened by an alien virus, the super hero community responds very quickly. The mystery of how the virus is connected to Laura has everyone racing to her for answers. This one is big. This is an entire event in one book. I can’t remember writing something so epic for one hero before.” Taylor told Marvel.com.
“The virus is highly contagious, and very deadly. It threatens the entire world, and there’s a ticking clock over our whole story.”
Taylor goes on to call say “this could be Laura’s greatest ever.”
All-New Wolverine #19 and the X-Men Resurrection titles (X-Men Blue, X-Men Gold, Generation X, Jean Grey, Iceman, Cable, Weapon X) arrive in Spring 2017.
