Two Wolverines will be stalking bad guys in the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now when the line relaunches this fall.
James Howlett/Logan/Wolverine is still dead but his daughter following the Logan Legacy in All-New Wolverine.
Now we know the woman behind the behind the mask:
Laura Kinney aka X-23 stars in her own brand new series by writer Tom Taylor (Superior Iron Man) and artist David Lopez (Captain Marvel) as the new hero with a familiar costume and code-name.
“Some may be surprised that Laura has taken up this mantle as she’s certainly always been her own person. But I think those close to Logan know how close he was to Laura. Most of Logan’s former teammates and friends will be very supportive of Laura.” Taylor told Marvel.com.
“That said we’re not going to focus too much on Logan’s past. A lot of the best Wolverine stories see a righteous Wolverine alone against a cruel world. Laura will be in a similar place. Something is going to make her very angry, very early, and she’s not going to be stopping for long-winded, thought-provoking conversations about legacies.”
We speculated last year that Laura would rise to become the next Wolverine. It’s been a long journey for the character who first appeared on an animated series. The All-New Wolverine will also co-star in the relaunched All-New X-Men (with members of the original X-Men) by Dennis Hopeless and Mark Waid.
The “Old Man Logan” Wolverine from the future will be a member of the new Extraordinary X-Men.
