Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers arc began with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes taking on Ex Nihilo on Mars. In the final prelude to Infinity issue Captain America recruited Ex Nihilo and his twisted sister Abyss to join the Avengers?

In  Avengers #20 we’ll learn there are more of these cosmic devils appearing in the big event:

“[These are] other ‘Ex Nihilos’ created by the Alephs sent out into the universe by the Builders to encourage or deter the evolution of sentient species,” reveals Hickman of these aliens and their ties to the beginning of his run.
“Throughout Infinity we’ll be revealing the reasons why the Builders are cutting through the galaxy,” the writer promises. “Along the way, we’ll learn more about their motivations, why they are doing this.”

Along with Skrulls, Builders and Inhumans – Infinity introduces the Black Order, the sinister alien enforcers of Thanos! Keep scrolling to review designs of evil creations Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight and other new characters who will serve the Mad God of Titan:
