Here it comes.
Just when you are ready to trust Rosalind, Coulson and his new love interest are on date when she’s killed by Ward who then taunts Phil.
The episode is a showcase for Clark Gregg as a driven Coulson interrogates his team, steps down as head of S.H.I.E.L.D. to go on a revenge-driven mission, grabbing Ward’s little brother (the one he pushed down the well) as leverage. The fearful brother confesses more Ward family secrets.
There’s a crack between Ward and his would-be mentor Gideon Malick (Powers Boothe from The Avengers) over the Hydra endgame to bring a long lost Inhuman back from the blue planet Simmons escaped and where Will is trapped thanks to the operation funded by Malick.
Ward just can’t let his obsession for revenge go and vows to kill Coulson and coldly enjoys torturing Simmons as Phil can only listen.
Fitz and Simmons attempted to re-open the portal to Maveth and reunite her with Will. As we learned last week Hydra has a more sinister reason to open the portal and capture the Inhumans.
Mack is now acting S.H.I.E.L.D. director and with Daisy get ready to send the Secret Warriors after Coulson.
It all it about to go down on Maveth. Ward took Fitz and led the Hydra strike team to the blue planet and Coulson dived in as the portal closed crashing on the exiled Inhuman’s domain.
Will Fitz find Will to reunite him with Simmons?
Can Coulson survive alone and hurt against Ward and a Hydra squad?
Is this the last stand of the unrelenting, unforgivable Ward?
Will the monstrous Inhuman that tortured Will and Simmons escape to Earth?
