Marvel and ABC are reportedly planning a spinoff of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are in talks to headline the new series according to Deadline.
Palicki joined the cast this season as Barbara “Bobbi” Morse known to comics fans as Mockingbird. Blood played mercenary Lance Hunter. Both characters were new recruits by Phil Coulson and quickly became fan favorites.
Morse started out as Coulson’s mole within Hydra but turns out she’s really working for “the real S.H.I.E.L.D.” a rival unit led by Edward James Olmos. The events of this season and Avengers: Age of Ultron would play into the set-up for Morse and Hunter getting their own series.
Marvel is talking with writer/producer John Ridley about a new series that reinvents a classic character.
This week on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Coulson is forced to recruit traitor Grant Ward (Brett Dalton).
