Avengers & X-Men: AXIS pits Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Children of the Atom against the Red Skull. The Marvel event begins this Fall by Rick Remender and crosses over into other titles.

One of the most anticipated battles will happen in the pages of the Magneto solo book in the March to AXIS. Magneto’s parents were killed by the Nazis so that’s reason enough for Erik to hate the Red Skull but there’s an even more powerful reason: the Red Skull stole the brain of Charles Xavier. Writer Cullen Bunn told Comic Book Resources how he’s getting in Magneto’s head for the big fight. Continue reading MARVEL AXIS: MAGNETO Vs. RED SKULL

Iron Man #28 is a book to watch. Tony Stark is always one of Marvel’s top characters but signs point to a major status quo for the Armored Avenger.

With Iron Man writer Kieron Gillen leaving the title after shattering the Stark legacy in The Secret Origin of Tony Stark. Tony was adopted and learned he had a brother. Arno was the biological son of Howard and Maria Stark

With the Watcher dead and Marvel’s greatest secrets exploding in the minds of its heroes in Original Sin Tony is a target because of the secrets he kept. Captain America learned Tony and Dr. Strange mind wiped and kicked him out of the Illuminati in New Avengers. Hulk remembered something about Tony that will spill into Original Sin: Iron Man vs. Hulk. Continue reading IRON MAN AFTER GILLEN

Logan will be killed in Death of Wolverine by Charles Soule and Steve McNiven. Marvel says it’s serious about killing off the fan-favorite X-Man. The final journey began this week as Three Months To Die began in Wolverine #8 by Paul Cornell and Kris Anka.

While the story potential of a World Without Wolverine is incredible, this geek has a burning question: Could someone else become the next Wolverine?

In an earlier chapter I explored how Logan’s arch-enemy Sabretooth could assume the role. If Doc Ock could become a Superior Spider-Man, could one of Logan’s rivals become a Savage, Ruthless or Superior Wolverine?

What about Daken? Continue reading THE NEXT WOLVERINE Part II

Spoiler Warning:

This story contains plot details of X-Men: Days of Future Past so you may not want to continue reading if you have not seen the new film.

Is this the cinematic end of Miss Emma Frost?

Emma appeared briefly in X-Men: Origins: Wolverine as the captured sister of Kayla (aka Silver Fox) played by Lynn Collins. We can assume it was Emma since she was icy blonde and could transform into diamond. The infamous Emma Frost of the Hellfire Club era was played by January Jones in X-Men: First Class. This was absolutely the telepath who could transform into diamond and was the lover of Sebastian Shaw.

In X-Men: Days of Future Past Mystique learns that Emma died as a prisoner of Bolivar Trask along with some other characters from First Class.

Does that mean, “No More Emma” in future X-Men movies? Continue reading X-MEN: EMMA FROST OF FUTURE PAST
