  It’s the 10th Anniversary of Emerald City Comicon in my home, Seattle. Boom! Studios is helping fans celebrate with 6 exclusive variants for this year’s big event. From Planet of the Apes and Hellraiser to Peanuts and Adventure Time there’s a cool cover for a comic fan of every age.

  My favorite was Planet of the Apes #9 by Mitch Gerads with gorillas storming the Space Needle and Matt Whitlock’s Peanuts #1 featuring Ace pilot Snoopy flying around our iconic landmark – which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in April. You can check out all 6 exclusives at this ECCC link.

Emerald City Comicon Exclusive Prints

  Emerald City Comicon revealed two stunning images featuring Seattle’s most stunning icon! These are exclusive prints for ECCC’s 10th anniversary. Alex Ross created a beautiful image starring the ECCC Crusaderette flying by the Space Needle. Jeremy Haun features The Darkness on top of the icon watching the Emerald City.

  Yours truly works across from the Space Needle and way back in 1999 I was on the very tip-top with KOMO 4 News Anchor and Super Guy Dan Lewis on a production shoot. KOMO 4 is in Fisher Plaza right across the street from the Space Needle and doubles as Seattle Grace Hospital on Grey’s Anatomy.

  Emerald City Comicon is March 30th-April 1st. April 21st is the 50th anniversary of the Space Needle and the Seattle World’s Fair. If you’re visting for ECCC you must include a trip up to the Space Needle while you’re in Seattle.

New Creators Announced for Emerald City Comicon

Emerald City Comicon announced 5 new creators coming to this year’s big event March 30th-April 1st.

Jason Howard is the artist known for Astounding Wolf-Man, Invincible, Little White Mouse and Super Dinosaur.

Ryan Ottley artist on the popular Image series Invincible  and Hack/Slash, Haunt, Witchblade.

Jeff Krell is the creator of the LGBT comic strip Jayson.

Jim Woodring is an awarding winner creator known for work in his magazine Jim.  He also worked on Aliens and Star Wars titles for Dark Horse Comics.

Gregg Schigiel works on the Spongebob Squarepants series and recent X-Babies. He’s the host of Stuff Said podcast.

Find Geek Love at Emerald City Comicon!

 Emerald City Comicon is giving fans a stellar cast of movie stars, television stars, comic book creators and even Jay and Silent Bob.

New Creators Announced for Emerald City Comicon

  Emerald City Comicon is adding more star power to an already impressive group of guests for fans to meet. Today they announced more creators for this year’s event:

Jacen Burrows is best known for his work for Avatar Press including Night of the Living Dead, Warren Ellis’ Blackgas, Alan Moore’s Neonomicon, Chronicles of Wormwood and Garth Ennis’ Crossed.

Kelly Sue DeConnick is known for her work on Supergirl, Spider-Island: I Love New York City, Black Widow, Yo Gabba Gabba: Comic Book Time and  recently a comic book adaptation of the hit series Castle: Richard Castle’s Deadly Storm.

Mike Wolfer currently works on Lady Death, Stitched and War Goddess. His career spans 20 years and collaborations with Alan Moore, Warren Ellis and Garth Ennis.

Chrissie Zullo is known for her work on Hack/Slash, Madame Xanadu, and Fables.

Randy Milholland is known for his work on webcomics Something Positive, New Gold Dreams and Midnight Macabre.

 

Matt Fraction at Emerald City Comicon

  I’m excited to report that Matt Fraction is returning to Emerald City Comicon. I loved Fraction’s Uncanny X-Men era which included the X-Men/Dark Avengers: Utopia. Matt is known for his long run on Invincible Iron Man, The Mighty Thor and 2011’s big event Fear Itself.

   Matt recently relaunched The Defenders and is co-plotting The Fearless, both spinning out of event from Fear Itself. Matt is part of the team creating Avengers Versus X-Men debuting this April.

  Fraction’s creator owned book Casanova continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and your mind!

Emerald City Comicon New Guests Announced

Emerald City Comicon announces 5 new creators coming to the Seattle event this March 30th-April 1st.

 Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir – husband and wife writing team of The Avalon Chronicles, The Amy Devlin Mysteries, Frenemy Of The State, Batman: Confidential, Amazing Agent Luna, Dracula Everlasting. I especially loved their New Mutants, New X-Men run. 

 Nicolas Hitori de French artist and co-creator of Spell Checkers, a teen comedy with witches co-created by Jamie S. Rich and Joëlle Jones and published by Oni Press.

 

 

  Joëlle Jones  Her drawing includes Madame Xanadu, Dr. Horrible, and Ultimate Spider-Man, House of Night for Dark Horse. Her latest book is The Girl Who Owned a City.

 

 

Jamie S. Rich Author of comics and prose known for his collaborations with Joëlle Jones on the books 12 Reasons Why I Love Her. He is writing the Spell Checkers and Madman-related projects with Mike Allred.

 

 

Christina Weir
Writer of many books for various publishers, including The Amy Devlin Mysteries, New X-Men, Amazing Agent Luna, Batman: Confidential, Dracula Everlasting, Frenemy Of The State, The Avalon Chronicles and the upcoming Bad Medicine and Play Ball.

Emerald City Comicon Calls on The Voice of Batman

Emerald City Comicon announced the addition of two classic voice actors to this year’s event!

Kevin Conroy is best known as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, a role he still plays in games and films from Justice League to Batman: Arkham City.

Maurice LeMarche is known for his work as The Brain in Pinky and the Brain, Destro on G.I. Joe, Kif Kroker on Futurama and many more.
