You could call her Coulson with a very, very dark side!

A ruthless comic book character is making the leap to television in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Saffron Burrows joins the spy game as Victoria Hand on the next episode (November 12th)

Hand was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato during their New Avengers run. During the post-Secret Invasion – Dark Reign era, Norman Osborn (Spidey villain Green Goblin) had convinced the U.S. government he was a reformed man and was put in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. which he renamed H.A.M.M.E.R. and he even had his own Dark Avengers (villains masquerading as the fan favorite heroes.) Hand was a S.H.I.E.L.D. accountant promoted to be Osborn’s right hand. After Osborn’s downfall Captain America recruited Hand to work for the Avengers.

From the new shots courtesy Marvel it looks like Hand is a major player within S.H.I.E.L.D. but if she’s anything like her comic book counterpart…Coulson and company should watch out!

Saffron Burrows as Victoria Hand appears on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. next Tuesday, November 12th. This could be a critical episode to watch for future of the series.

The special Captain Marvel Carol Corps issue is out today. To celebrate the arrival of Captain Marvel #17 I wanted to share the final part of my one on one with writer Kelly Sue DeConnick at GeekGirlCon.

The Carol Corps would love to see Carol Danvers make the leap from comic books to television or a movie. Could we see Carol on an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or an Avengers sequel or possibly her own series or solo movie?

I asked DeConnick what’s the most important for filmmakers to get right about Carol in transitioning the fan-favorite Avenger from comic book to other mediums.

Perfect Villain for MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Eye Spy was the best episode yet of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

As the episode unfolded I kept thinking of the perfect villain for the hit series. As Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team tried to uncover who was manipulating a long-lost agent (an impressive turn by Pascale Armand) this evil scientist from Marvel history kept creeping into my brain:

Mister Hyde!

Dr. Calvin Zabo (aka Mister Hyde) was an immoral but brilliant genetic researcher. Zabo took inspiration from Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and tried to unleash but control monstrous strength and beastial abilities. Just when Jessica Drew thinks she’s through with secrets and lies she’s gets pulled back in! Isn’t that part of why we love Spider-Woman?

As revealed at New York Comic Con – Jessica is the new recruit for a clandestine unit of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a brand new Secret Avengers #1 by Ales Kot and Michael Walsh.

Maria Hill runs the unit (Hawkeye, Black Widow, Phil Coulson, Nick Fury) taking on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most dangerous field missions. Can Jessica trust anybody on the team? Continue reading Who Joins SECRET AVENGERS

Set in the aftermath of the Battle of New York in The Avengers, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is fun ride for the hard-core comic book reader, fan of the cinema series and you just want a thrill and humor filled escape into the unknown.

An ordinary man (J. August Richards) with super powers saves a life and becomes a target of an annoying computer expert and the super spy agency from Iron Man, Thor and The Avengers movies. Continue reading MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Review

Can’t wait for the next episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. after this week’s blockbuster premiere?

The television series inspired by The Avengers movie could mark the first appearance of some classic heroes, villains and spies from the comic books.
