Battlestar Galactica Blood and Chrome Trailer!

io9 posted the what’s being called a trailer for the Battlestar Galactica prequel Blood and Chrome. The story follows a young William Adama (played by Luke Pasqualino) in the first Cylon War. io9 reports SyFy ‘demoted’ the mini-series from television to the web. Take a look and see!

So Say We All? Should SyFy put this back on the network? The song used with the trailer is perfect. It’s Trent Reznor’s remake of “Immigrant Song” he made for the U.S. version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which makes me suspect this could be a fan trailer or an in-house trailer not meant for the public. Regardless, the images looks great and I’m in!

Special Note: The man who played Admiral Adama, Edward James Olmos, will be appearing at Emerald City Comicon on Friday, March 30th.

The trailer for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows did a comedic 180. His big screen version of the gothic soap opera from the 1970’s plays upon an old school gentleman vampire awakened in the 70’s.

Johnny Depp plays vampire Barnabas Collins. Bond girl Eva Green plays the witch Angelique who cursed Collins. Empire posted some colorful characters posters celebrating the 70’s groovy gothic vibe.

X-Factor Reunion

X-Factor #233 courtesy Marvel

This week’s X-Factor #233 may feel all new but a little familiar as Havok and Polaris take charge of X-Factor Investigations. Alex and Lorna returned from exile in Shiar Space and Logan hooked them up with Madrox’s crew in #230. This issue the long suffering lovers are back just in time for the return of the Isolationist. It’s the best of both of Peter David’s X-Factor runs together. How about a comeback of the Nasty Boys?

If this makes you feel nostalgic here’s a link to my previous post on this X-Factor reunion and some great adventures from the early 90’s when Havok ran the team.

Marvel has not revealed any X-Factor members in any AvX fights. I’d be surprising to not see powerhouses like Havok and Polaris come to the aid of Cyclops and Magneto.

Emma Stone On Her Gwen Stacy in Amazing Spider-Man

Mary Jane may be Spidey’s main movie squeeze in the Sam Raimi films but true believers know Gwen Stacy is Peter Parker’s first true love from the comics. Emma Stone talked with The Hollywood Reporter about preparing to play Gwen.

“There was a fair amount of research for me to do because I didn’t read the comic books growing up, so of course I had a lot to brush up on. But for the most part, the definitive part of Gwen Stacy, more than anything, more than the different incarnations of her personality – because she was a hippie, she had twins with Norman Osborne, there were a lot of things we didn’t really touch on quite as much, and there were some updates to Gwen as well, because it’s present day – I think that Gwen’s underlying factor remains incredibly sad, until what happens, which is incredibly tragic. Her father faces death every single day, her boyfriend faces death every single day, so she is constantly surrounded by an undercurrent of mortality. So she is in control and she is valedictorian and she is confident and smart because she has to be; she’s constantly in the face of something, so that’s why her end is so much more tragic.”

Do you think this movie Gwen Stacy will share the same fate as her comic book counterpart?

Assassination of Tony Stark!

A big follow-up! Tony Stark assassinated?

What would make Tony Stark give up being Iron Man? Matt Fraction previewed his next arc Long Way Down on Marvel.com in an earlier story below.

Today Marvel’s full June solicitations deliver an ominous declaration.

INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #518 & 519
•The New Iron Man explodes into action!
• Spymaster’s rampage within Stark Resilient comes to its bloody end!
• THE ASSASSINATION OF TONY STARK!

Previous Story:

“As we’ll see at the end of Demon, General Babbage, [Tony’s] primary antagonist at the Pentagon, and Justine Hammer of Hammer Industries, present Tony with an ultimatum,” says Fraction. “Accepting it is the only way he can remain in control of the Iron Man without losing everything. And Tony very quickly finds that arrangement to be unacceptable. The ramifications of that are what ‘Long Way Down’ is all about.

“So basically…Tony quits,” said Matt Fraction.

A mole inside Stark Resilient will be exposed. Fraction says expect dire repercussions:

“People start dying. Bethany Cabe starts earning her paycheck.”

“All the pots from the very beginning of Invincible Iron Man are coming to a boil,” he says. “Mandarin and Stane’s alliance, the revamped and upgraded rogues gallery, the Hammer girls, Spymaster’s infiltration—‘Long Way Down’ deals with all of it.”

Fraction says there will be a new Iron Man. Who will wear the armor? For Fraction’s entire interview here’s the Marvel.com linkLong Way Down begins in Invincible Iron Man #516.

Thanks to Comics Newsarama for the updated June solicits.

The Walking Dead Season Finale Savior & Casting Michonne

WARNING: GRAPHIC VIDEO AHEAD!

WARNING: THIS SHOWS A PIVOTAL SCENE FROM THE FINALE!

IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE FINALE DON’T WATCH!

It was a pivotal moment of The Walking Dead Season Three Finale and perhaps THE fan favorite moment in an episode filled with incredible moments. Here it is again!

Right after that episode creator Robert Kirkman revealed that Danai Gurira was cast as Michonne on The Talking Dead. Kirkman tells The Hollywood Reporter how he kept the casting secret.

Danai Gurira courtesy IMDB

“It was very carefully done. The scene was shot — that wasn’t Danai in the costume — so we held the casting until later so it wouldn’t leak because we knew that once we cast Michonne there would be so many agents, managers and casting people that would be aware of it that it would be impossible to keep it under wraps. We waited until later to do it and worked really hard to preserve that reveal.”

Robert Kirkman explained why Gurira stood out when auditioning for the role.

“Danai really portrayed the power and strength that we need Michonne to exhibit. Michonne is a very complex character who’s dealing with a lot of things and has a very intricate personality. There’s a lot to that role, and Danai, more than any other actress, showed us that she could exhibit that strength and show what an intense character she could be and, at the same time, have that emotional core and be able to show a vulnerability to a certain extent that we don’t see much of but is definitely there. She really was the whole package, and I think she’s going to do a really good job.”
